Pelbano Recreation Center Upgrades

Sci-Tek provided site assessment and civil engineering services for upgrades to the Pelbano Recreation Center in Northeast Philadelphia. The project included replacing the playground equipment and safety surfaces. Upgrade the spray ground area where required. A new recreational walking path and area was constructed with additional outdoor lighting improvements.

The site civil work involved the replacement of defective stormwater management components where needed. Sci-Tek provided drainage design information to ensure positive drainage to the existing public stormwater system. Sci-Tek’s scope of services for this project included:

• Site Evaluation
• Site civil design services, which included:
  • Site grading of the site and associated details and drawings
  • Utility coordination and connection support, including waterline and sewer tie-in applications
• Erosion and Sedimentation Control Plan
• Stormwater management plan to PWD for addressing stormwater on the site
• Plan drawings and specifications for the site-civil portion of the work for review and comment
• Bidding and construction phase services
