The Oliver Bath House was completed in 1915 and was a gift from steel magnate Henry W. Oliver to the city. Presently, the Oliver Bath House is an indoor facility used for aquatic programs by the Department of Parks and Recreation. In 2018, the Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission awarded the City of Pittsburgh a Keystone Historic Preservation Grant for a historic architectural review of the Oliver Bath House. The focus of the grant is building restoration, window repairs, upgrades to the roof, modernization of HVAC systems, structural repairs, and rehabilitation of the interior to improve health and safety. As a subconsultant to Buchart Horn, Sci-Tek is providing the following environmental consulting and site civil design services.

ENVIRONMENTAL

  • Asbestos and Hazardous Materials Survey, Asbestos Specifications – collect bulk asbestos samples, send to lab for testing, and provide a final report; perform a hazardous materials inventory.
  • Abatement Design Services - Prepare and certify specifications for abatement of asbestos-containing materials discovered during the sampling process.

SITE CIVIL DESIGN

  • Provide utility coordination and front sidewalk replacement details.
  • Provide bidding services which include a site preconstruction visit, response to contractor questions, and issue of addendum documents.
  • Provide construction administrative services including submittal review, review of Requests for Information, intermittent site visits during construction, and the project final inspection.
