The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) maintains a maintenance stockpile in Conchester, Delaware County. Due to a highway construction project for SR 322 to widen it from a 2-lane highway to a 4-lane highway, the maintenance stockpile will be demolished. PennDOT is building an entirely new facility at a location on Conchester Road and Station Road. As a subconsultant to the architect, Sci-Tek provided the follow services:
Schematic Design Phase
- Prepared the preliminary site plans and design details for review and adjustments.
- Prepared a preliminary construction cost estimate for the site civil portion of the work.
Design Development Phase
- Coordinated final site civil items.
- Coordinated site design requirements for the parking lot layout including striping details and the location of protective bollards.
- Updated the construction cost estimate for the site civil portion of the work.
Construction Document Phase
- Coordinated requirements for the final site-civil design plans and specifications.
- Provided final site design plans, details and technical specifications for bidding phase.
- Provided an updated construction cost estimate for the site civil portion of the work.
- Provided the geotechnical exploration and reporting for the new building construction.
Bidding/Negotiation Phase
- Attended one pre-bid meeting.
- Responded to Contractor questions during the bidding phase.
Contract Administration
- Approved Contractor submittals for the project.
- Responded to Contractor’s questions during construction activities.
- Prepared drafted record drawings based on ‘as built’ red-line drawings prepared and received from the Contractor.
