The Port Authority of Allegheny County is making improvements to the Negley Station, located along the East Busway near the newly renovated East Liberty Station. The design improvements to the existing Negley Station include a new entrance plaza and structure, upgrades to the walk from the Negley bridge, the boarding platforms, canopies, and lighting. Additionally, a concrete medium barrier is being installed along the centerline to improve safety. Sci-Tek is providing the following services:
LAND SURVEYING
- Perform a topographic survey of the existing site conditions, such as buildings, structures, fences, walls, curbs, shoulders, ramps, sidewalks, pavement, inlets, signs, manholes, traffic signals and other above ground utility appurtenances, and trees.
- Perform a survey of the acceleration / deceleration lanes that will be affected by the installation of the concrete medium barrier.
SITE CIVIL DESIGN

- Perform an ASTM Level C subsurface utility investigation.
- Produce demolition, site grading, stormwater, erosion and sedimentation control, site improvement, utility, maintenance and protection of traffic, signage and pavement marking drawings.
- Coordinate the stormwater detention connection point with PWSA and submit a tap-in permit application, including drawings for PWSA approval.
- Coordinate with Duquesne Light Company for relocation of a utility pole.
- Submit documents with the conceptual design (30%), schematic design (60%), design development (90%) and construction documents (100%) completion milestones.
- Prepare a stormwater management plan to be submitted and approved by the City of Pittsburgh and the Allegheny County Conservation District (ACCD).
- Prepare an erosion and sediment control plan to be submitted and approved by the ACCD.
- Prepare technical specifications for the project.
