Sci-Tek provided design services for pavement and bridge repairs, resurfacing, and signage for 1.7 miles of limited travel roadway on McCaslin Road near Pittsburgh International Airport in Moon Township. As part of the scope of work, Sci-Tek:
- Performed a topographic survey of the roadway to set a baseline and located structures, manholes, and inlets that affected the resurfacing of the roadway.
- Engaged a subconsultant to assess the structural adequacy of resurfacing and identify design repairs to three bridges inclusive of new guide railings.
- Incorporated signage at two sharp horizontal curves.
- Prepared construction plans which indicated the limits of the bituminous pavement repair details, utility adjustments, and details for project.
- Prepared a phasing plan for work activities with input from the Construction Manager.
- Prepared a project manual and bid form for bidding purposes.
- Provided a probable estimate of construction costs.
- Prepared Form FAA 7460, Notice of Proposed Construction, at airports for review and submission to the FAA.
- Provided services during the bid phase of the project which consisted of responding to contractor requests for information or clarification of the work activities and prepared addenda to the project manual and drawings as required.
- Provided construction phase services which consisted of responding to contractor requests for information, review of shop drawings and product submittals, and periodic site visits.
