The University of Pittsburgh and the PA Department of General Services (DGS) are constructing an addition to Crawford Hall Science Lab as well as renovating the interior of the building. Crawford Hall is a 6-story building constructed in 1969 and used as a research laboratory facility. Besides some minor localized areas of renovation, Crawford Hall has not been updated since its original construction and is in a deteriorated condition from an infrastructure and program perspective. As a subconsultant to R3A Architecture, Sci-Tek provided the following design services:

- Performed a survey of the existing site conditions including details on existing improvements, such as buildings, curbs, shoulders, ramps, sidewalks, islands, pavement, curb inlets, signs, traffic signals and other above ground utility appurtenances.
- Prepared a topographic survey drawing to show the details of the features surveyed.
- ENVIRONMENTAL

- Performed a hazardous building materials inventory for the affected areas of the building to identify Universal Wastes, including fluorescent bulbs, lighting ballasts, thermostats, exit signs, batteries, pesticides, and other hazardous materials.
- Prepared and certified specifications for abatement of ACM and removal of other hazardous materials.
- Prepared and submitted abatement drawings in AutoCAD that indicate locations of ACM.
