The City of Pittsburgh is planning renovations to the existing 3-story Brighton Heights Senior Center and site to highlight historic character, increase energy efficiency, and improve exterior and interior spaces to better serve the public. The facility is to be operational year round for CitiParks and the community at-large. As a subconsultant to AE7, Sci-Tek is providing the following services:

SURVEYING

    • Topographic survey of the existing site conditions
    • Boundary retracement survey of the subject tract
    • Existing conditions survey drawing showing the features surveyed as well as information received as a result of the PA One Call notification.

ENVIRONMENTAL

  • Phase I Environmental Site Assessment to provide a professional opinion, based on the scope of services, on the potential for Recognized Environmental Conditions (REC), which may require remedial action, to exist on the subject lot.

 SITE CIVIL DESIGN

  • Hydrant Flow Test coordination to understand the pressure and flow of the water main on McClure Avenue to aid in the design of the fire suppression system for the center.
  • Water/sewer use application to the Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority (PWSA).
  • Close Circuit Television (CCTV) investigation of the PWSA storm sewer connection.
  • Stormwater Management or Post Construction Stormwater Management Plan and Narrative.
  • Erosion & Sedimentation (E&S) Control Plan and Narrative in accordance with PADEP requirements.
  • Tap-in Plans for a new storm connection in the public right of way for approvals required by PWSA.
  • Grading, drainage, and E&S plans and details suitable for bidding and construction.
  • Technical specifications for grading and drainage construction scopes.
  • Construction administration services including review the general contractor’s shop drawing submittals and RFI’s, site visits, and prepare as-built drawings of the site/civil work.
