Sci-Tek provides engineering and consulting services for the natural gas and electric utility industries. Specific capabilities include:
Engineering Services like design, alignment planning, and right of way development for new pipelines and design of utility infrastructure:
Columbia Gas Pipeline Design – Sci-Tek is assisting Columbia Gas with design of a new natural gas pipeline in Beaver County. Sci-Tek is providing the hydraulic design of the pipeline and also designing and securing approval for crossing the line under a Norfolk Southern railway in accordance with their requirements.
Environmental Permitting and Regulatory Compliance Consulting that keeps facilities operating in compliance with environmental rules and regulations; also permits for installation of natural gas wells or construction of new facilities.
Environmental Compliance Support for US DOE facilities – Sci-Tek provided a review of environmental, safety, and health program directives at Department of Energy facilities in Pittsburgh and Morgantown, primarily sufficiency assessments with respect to current site practices, applicable regulatory requirements, and applicable DOE requirements. Results: One set of merged directives were developed between the two sites, providing for improved compliance with environmental, safety and health regulations and requirements. Sci-Tek also provided assistance in developing, preparing and implementing corrective actions resulting from an ISO 14001 Gap analysis and EMS review and is currently conducting assessments of ES&H programs and preparing reports which document findings on strengths and weaknesses, and include recommendations for improvements.
Site Civil Design for new facilities including design of grading, pavement, water supply, E&S controls, and sewerage; NPDES Permit Applications for Stormwater Discharges Associated with Construction Activities; and Post Construction Stormwater Management (PCSM) Plans.
Geotechnical Engineering such as subsurface investigations, foundation design, and analysis for geological conditions such as landslides, acid mine drainage, and mine subsidence.
